Halva is one of the main meals spread in the Arab countries, and you rarely find a breakfast or dinner table free of this wonderful type of food. We grew up loving the sweetness of tahini since childhood, so our mothers often put it for us as food that we take with us to school and we eat it at break time with its distinctive taste. And for those with muscular effort, they give the body complete food with the calories needed for stressful work throughout the day.
In addition to its delicious taste, halva is characterized by its fragility, which makes it easy to eat for young children and the elderly. Halva contains a large percentage of sugars, which makes its taste sweet. Therefore, doctors advise diabetics not to eat a lot of it.
Its name differs in the Arab countries from one country to another. It is called in sugar, the mother of halva, while the inhabitants of the Gulf call it Rahash, and the inhabitants of the Maghreb call it the Levantine dessert. The halva is characterized as never spoiling, but it is preferable to put it in the refrigerator in the summer to avoid the flow of its components.
Halva consists of a mixture of grinding sesame seeds in addition to sugar (glucose), and nuts such as pistachios and walnuts can be added to it, and cocoa is sometimes added to it. The method of preparing halva is not difficult, and the housewife can make it at her home: 1- Put two cups of sugar and two cups of powdered milk in a bowl, and mix them until they are mixed. 2- After the sugar dissolves in the milk, we put a teaspoon of vanilla and mix it with them. 3- Then add the liquid tahini and knead the materials together until the dough holds together.
4- Put the dough in a plastic box, press it with a spoon and then decorate it with nuts. 5- After that, we put it in the refrigerator for three hours, and then the halva is ready to be eaten. Halva has many benefits because it contains protein, calcium, magnesium, iron and other elements beneficial to the human body, and its benefits include: 1- It protects against cancers, especially colon and skin cancer, because it contains antioxidants.

3- It gives the body energy, activity and vitality, as well as strengthening the muscles.
4- It contributes to cleaning the digestive system, eliminating intestinal worms, and expelling them outside the body.
5- Protects the skin, delays the appearance of aging symptoms, and moisturizes the skin. 6- Stimulate and activate the functions of cells and tissues in the body.
7- Contributes to strengthening the body's immune system, and makes it resist viral and bacterial diseases.
8- It contributes to the revitalization of blood circulation, and therefore doctors advise taking it for those who suffer from weak blood circulation. 9- It protects humans from blood clots because it nourishes blood vessels and capillaries. 10- Contribute to lowering cholesterol in the body, which leads to protection from atherosclerotic diseases. Thus, we see that halva has many memories on the tables of Arab homes, in addition to being a traditional delicacy spread in all Arab countries, which benefits the body and contributes to its immunization and protection from many diseases, and protects it from aging.
